Kevin Ford had the opportunity to chronicle indie-filmmaker Richard Linklater as he brought to life his movie version of Fast Food Nation in late 2005. The Manufacturing of Fast Food Nation is a heartfelt visual journey into the process of one of America's brightest filmmakers.

Almost an hour in length, it delves into all the expected topics, while leaving plenty of room for gobs of fly-on-the-wall on-set footage... within that, we get some insight as to how Linklater and crew shot in a real meat plant and how they were afraid of getting kicked out... There are precious shots of Linklater giving performance notes to the actors, something we usually don’t see in these types of DVD supplements. Video is digital-perfect.”
